I will suggest you to carry dry foods with you because the hotels available are in far distances.

During the tour we stayed at Purulia and Joychandi Pahar Youth Hostel respectively. There are canteens in both places. And I will also recommend you to stay at the youth hostel. As I have been there myself. Although the youth hostels are of medium quality as a place to stay. But worth for money. And the locations are pretty good too. Besides, 'Niharika' of 'Irrigation department of West Bengal' in Ayodhya hills is a good option. You will get booking information on Google. We are only stayed in youth hostels so I am not taking the name of any hotel or resort unnecessarily without knowing it. However, at present there are many hotels and resorts in Purulia. There is no doubt about that. You just have to book it with good research.
One important thing to keep in mind here is that if you have a three-day trip, book a hotel for two days. At the last day check out the hotel in the morning and carry your luggage in the car and tell your driver to drop you at the station by the evening. Board night train from Purulia / Adra station and reach Howrah by early morning. This can save you one day hotel rent.
